It's Like Déj-à Vuu For 4 Minutes Straight

Dear Friend,

Got a great email from a T.Y.E. customer after I sent my Blunt Sculled
Earthlings email - about goal setting and visualization.

You know me with visualization. Anyone who has a
visualization story, you'll get all the airtime you need to share your story.

The world needs more inspiration

Check it out- it's good stuff.

“Vince- GOALS ... This is the one thing I have been lacking in my life for
many a years. I can't tell you the last time I set a goal and
went after it. It's been a LONG time and your email today was so
ironic and fitting to the revelation I experienced last night.

I was thinkin one goal that I set and concurred.

June 9, 1990 ... my Jr year of high school, and I just finished the
1600 meter run at the Ohio High School State Track Meet. I
finished a disappointing third place after leading most of the
race. Looking back now, I believe in my heart I didn't win that
race due to the sole fact that I hadn't been there before. What I
mean is ... prior to that race, I never envisioned myself
(visualize myself) as the state champ. My grandfather always used
to tell me ... whether you think you can or you think you can't,
you're right.

So, I spent the next 365 days planning, working, running, eating,
sacrificing ... anything and everything I did, was done for what I
called luck. I see 'luck' as a moment in time when preparation
meets opportunity. So I set out to do whatever I could to put
myself in position for that lucky second-chance.

That summer, my track coach made us WRITE DOWN our goals.
These goals needed to be exact, precise and measurable.

Nothing generic.

Easy for me ... STATE CHAMP in the mile. I also added
a few others (times I wanted to run like a 4:21 mile) but winning
that race in the horseshoe stadium of OSU in June was the one that
fueled me to spring out of bed each morning.

I can go on and on, in detail, about my daily routine, the constant
awareness I had for not only what I put in my body (fuel) but also
when running, I would work on efficiency of my running style. But
long story short, my senior year of high school I went on qualify
for the state meet in 4 events (mile, 2 mile, 1/2 mile and 2 mile
relay).

The mile race was my main focus and I visualized myself
running that race hundreds, if not thousands of times.

Many times I would visualize during my long runs. There were times
after those long runs (45-120 minutes) where I was so in tune and
focused on what was in my head that I wouldn't be able to recall
where I ran or how I felt during the run.

Well, the day finally came ... RACE DAY. June 9, 1991 and in my
mind, each step of this race that I was about to run had already
been run before - step by step, lap by lap.

When I actually stepped out onto the track and got ready
for the gun to go off, it was like stepping into another world.

I was living a dream and was able to fill in the blanks
and fuzzy areas where my visualization didn't capture.
After the gun went off and started going through the motions of the race,
it was the most surreal feeling I have ever felt.

Picture this ... experiencing déj-à vuuu for more than 4
minutes straight. I can honestly tell you that it was an
experience that will live in me forever.

I still get goose bumps thinking about it.

Set for step, lap by lap, it went EXACTLY how
I had envisioned it.

I was able to accomplishment that feat and
experience the ultimate feeling of accomplishment because of the
goals I set some many months before. Also, prior to this race, my
personal best was 4:29.

That day, I ran a 4:16 mile with a 51 second final lap.

And as I look back now, each of the
elements you have incorporated into your Triple Your Endurance program,

16 years earlier, were the very same invaluable steps I
needed to accomplish my dream.”

VP's response...
Ray, fabulous story. I have a similar one with a last minute game winning interception that I'll have to break out sometime. Now all you have to do is summon that story whenever you need a nitro boost of success runnin through your veins and Flip the Switch and think about any new goal you want to attain.

I've tried this approach many times (passed over from Matt Furey from Dr. Maltz in Zero Resistance Living) and it works like gang busters.

Then there won't be any mountain you can't climb.

Thanks for sharing.

All for now.

Conceive, Believe, Achieve,
