How to Dig for Diamonds in Your Backyard
By Vince Palko
Was on the phone with my best friend Jeff from high school the other night.
He's an attorney for insurance firms and is currently looking elsewhere for employment.
One opportunity is located in Columbus, OH which if he took would result in transplanting hisself as well as his family.
So I asked him, "What if you didn't have to look any further than your backyard for opportunity?"
"What do you mean by that, Vinnie?"
I
explained that we all have acres of diamonds in our own backyard.
"Come on, I'm not spending time looking for anything
in my backyard, I live on what was once a farm," he responded.
"Take your literal left-brain, logical, lawyer hat off for two seconds," I quipped.
"Diamonds are ideas that could literally make you truck loads of cash," I shot back.
After asking a couple of probing questions about what he enjoys doing both now and in the past– Wally Wombat came up. "Who is Wally," you ask?
Wally Wombat was a TV show Jeff created, acted in, directed and edited all with public television when he was in college. The Wally Wombat Show had the flavor of David Letterman in the early days; interview total strangers on the streets of Wadsworth with the twist of being a super hero saving. (Don't go searching the net, nothing ever came of it)
You're prob thinking okay another story of some goofy kids with some hours to waist. Right?
Wrong. The gold nugget to gather here is... he did all this for FREE!
"Jeff, what if you created a 'How to Course' on creating your own infomercial on public television ALL FOR FREE," I suggested.
Silence filled the phone. Then I heard, "Wow, now that is interesting idea VP!@"
"That is one big diamond that I thoroughly know inside and out and could write about to help others take advantage of the opportunity," he thought out loud.
Yep, and you probably have many other diamonds with your name on them.
What interests do you have that could put extra cash in YOUR pocket?
Make a list of everything you enjoy doing. Filter out the ones that you think others would be interested in getting their hands on.
Here is a visual to help you get in the mood. (SEE ABOVE) Download the image and begin labeling each diamond in the wheel barrel. After this session you should have at least one solid idea to move forward with.
All for now.
Get Diggin' ,

Ps. In a few weeks I'll be announcing my latest and greatest creation. Let's
just say it will help you launch that million dollar idea you dig up (over the
next couple of days).
