Honk for Health
By Vince Palko
I was driving to Kinko's with my 4-year-old
the other day.
While en route we saw a lone biker peddling
towards us in the oncoming traffic “bike lane.”
As the biker approached, I put the window
down, stuck out my hand & pumped my fist,
pressed the horn and ....“BEEEEP!”
All the sudden from the back seat I hear, “Daddy why did you just beep at that guy?”
“Just because”... I said.
Her: “Was he in your way?”
Me: “No”
Her: “Did you know him?”
Me: “No”
“Then why did you BEEP the horn and shout at him?” she pressed.
I answered her question with another question,
“Sophia, how many people did you see exercising on the
road right now– besides him?”
“No one.”
“The reason I beeped is because that person's riding his bike.
He could be at home sitting on his bum. Instead, he 's out
getting sumthing done. I like celebrating people exercising by honking
when I drive.”
Silence filled the back seat. As I looked in the review
mirror, all I could see was a little four-year-old girl staring
out the window at the passing trees. And thinking to herself, “Alright by me, Dad.”
Everyone where's an invisible shirt that says, “I want to be noticed.”
So the next time you see someone “getting sumthin done,” – Honk for Health!
And it will come back around.
Best,

Ps. You don't have to run or bike to getting sumthing done.
As a matter of fact, one factor that helped my “bike”
of a recent race was doing 50 hindu squats 1 time a
day for two months.
Seen in http://www.successvisuals.com/products/royal_court.html
I tracked the amount I did each day with my
Hindu Squat Goal Tracker which kept me 100% consistent.
