Can the Core Score for You

Never under estimate the power of your core.

When your core is strong everything is held together well
including your organs and your arms and legs.

It's the foundation to a fit body.

Imagine if the great Red Woods tree trunks were rotting wood
instead of strong dense material. What do you think would
happen to the stability of the tree and the branches it supports?

Again, you mid drift is vital important to staying fit.

If ever I'm short on time, I focus my training around my mid section.

A strong core allows your body to work together in one connected unit.

It's even know that having a strong core allows you to run
faster and with less effort. If you are not a runner, the benefit is you'll
encounter less injuries. And less visits
to the chiropractor.

Now back in the day (I hate this phrase but it works)
the abs were the last exercise
I'd focus on. They were a 'finish-up' exercise if you will
- after heavy squats and bench.

weight exercises out. I also make abs a priority or give them
equal weight.

If I'm ever sitting around enjoying some Christmas specials with the girls,
I lay on my back and
raise my legs in the air for a minute count or so. The same exercises done in the
movie An Officer and a Gentleman (i believe that was the movie).

Just something to give my abs a bit of attention.

Now you can do crunches til you're blue in the face to strengthen
your core. I get bored after about 1 set.

I have been able to reduce my waistline by way of Matt Furey's
Magnificent Seven exercises
.

I particularly love the Farmer Burns stomach flattener because
I practice a variation of this while sitting in front of my computer.

You could do the same thing while watching your favorite TV show
or while perusing your favorite message board.

I also love to incorporate an ab workout after a swim that rocks my core
to the core.

Having a strong core is prerequisite to higher levels of health.
So run faster and score higher with your solid rock, yet flexible mid section.
